The Gents Championship Final was played on Friday 18^th July. It was a lovely evening at Lochee BC, and a decent crowd was in attendance. The match was a repeat of last year’s final with Brian Smith playing Ronnie Duell.

 

Both players started the game in excellent form with heads repeatedly changing from bowl to bowl. Brian continued to put pressure on Ronnie and eventually built up a lead. He managed to maintain the shot difference for the remainder of the game, closing out the final with a 21 to 13 shot victory.

 

The game was played in the right spirit and both players entertained the crowd throughout the match with first class bowling. The victory gave Brian back-to-back titles and his 3^rd Championship overall.
